Multi cuisine restaurants in Coorg are very popular because they make it possible for people with different tastes to find their choice of food at one restaurant only, this adds to the popularity and attraction of Coorg Tourism. Some multi cuisine restaurants are high-end, well designed and more expensive than the others like Caravan and Raintree, which are simple and known mostly for their food like Shanthi Bites. Take a look at the popular ones.

Raintree

Raintree tops the list when the discussion is about multi-cuisine restaurants in Coorg. The ambience of this restaurant is very charming and it makes its customers feel comfortable. It is a relaxing effect on the customers due its location and beautiful surrounding. It is located amidst the hills of Coorg and is surrounded by the green beauty of Coorg. The staff of this restaurant is famous for its efficient service. The most attractive aspect of Raintree is that even though it is a high-end restaurant with a beautiful location and charming ambience it is not very expensive and this comes as a joyful surprise to the customers. The famous dishes of this restaurant are mutton biryani, alleppey prawn curry, chemmeen thenga, meen moilee, ularthu and seafood platter. All these aspects of this restaurant together help in making it a significant part of Coorg Tourism.

Shanthi Bites

Shanthi Bites is one of the budget friendly multi-cuisine restaurants in Coorg. It is not a high-end restaurant like The Falls or Raintree and doesn’t have the best of ambience, but the food served in this restaurant is very delicious and it’s the sole reason for the popularity of the restaurant. Shanthi Bites has dishes from Continental, Chinese, Tibetan and Indian cuisines in its menu. It becomes an important part of Coorg Tourism as it offers various cuisines to attract people with different tastes, and is also relatively cheap attracting tourists with different budgets.

Caravan

Caravan is more on the high-end side, but its main asset remains the delicious food. It has a great ambience and is located right in the heart of Coorg, but none of this excites the customers more than the excellent food of this restaurant. It is a multi-cuisine restaurant with food so delicious that people make sure they return to this place again for a meal. The famous dishes of this restaurant are Chicken Satay, Murg Musallam, Spicy Diced Chicken and Oriental Vegetables in butter garlic sauce with fried rice or noodles. The location of this place helps to attract customers and makes it an important part of Coorg Tourism, as it is located right in the heart of the city of Coorg.

Silver Oaks

It is a multi-cuisine restaurant serving dishes from Continental, Chinese and Indian cuisines. The famous dish of this restaurant is chow mein served with Chinese gravy chicken or vegetable. This restaurant is located inside the famous Hotel Coorg International, which is an essential part of Coorg Tourism, and this is one of the reasons for its popularity. The most peculiar aspect of this restaurant is that it has a wooden dance floor inside it for its customers. This makes it different from the other restaurants in Coorg.

The Food

On the owner’s recommendation, we ordered a Tandoori Mixed Grill Platter as a starter. Minutes later, a heavily laden platter still hissing and steaming on a grill plate landed before us, containing a collection of tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, lamb chops and some kind of Indian kebab.

The tandoori lamb in particular is unforgettably delectable. Complete with tamarind and mint chutney sauces for dipping, my first impression of the food had set the bar quite high for the rest of the meal.

For the main, my husband and I decided to pick one ‘safe’ dish: Butter Chicken and one experimental dish: Goat Curry. I was excited and also slightly apprehensive about the goat curry, having never eaten goat in my life. The curry is made in a traditional Bhunao style, where the meat is cooked in its own juices. It turned out to be one of the nicest Indian curries and Indian food I have eaten to date. The Butter Chicken was also top quality and was ideal with the colourful Saffron Rice that I ordered with it.

Tandoori Flames have carefully matched their wine list to their constantly evolving menu. The French white I had with my meal was an excellent example of their selection perfection. Delightfully light, it served as a sublime accompaniment to the meal.

The accompanying Garlic Basil Naan was a delicious twist on the usual Naan breads I have had, and was a tasty addition to the meal.

At this point, having eaten almost to the point of bursting, my husband insisted we try the dessert. He already had his heart set on Mango Kulfi and Gulab Jamun so I consented. Now I have tried ‘Gulab Jamun’ on a number of occasions. For those of you who have never heard of it, it is basically a fried doughnut soaked in sugar syrup flavoured with cardamom.

In my past experiences with Gulab Jamun it was usually gluggy, dense and sickeningly sweet and when my husband ordered it at Tandoori Flames, I dubiously awaited its arrival. The Gulab Jumun that arrived before us was nothing like my previous experiences. It was fluffy, light and luxuriously coated in delicately flavoured syrup. I nearly had to restrain my husband from ordering a second helping. The Mango Kulfi (think love-child of ice-cream & sorbet) was unique with a delicate but authentic Indian flavour that I decided was cardamom.

Every dish has such authentic flavour, but not at all overpowering the way some Indian food can be.

The Entertainment – Belly Dancer Extravaganza

Every Saturday night around 8pm at Tandoori Flames you will find a belly dancer shaking it left, right and centre. Having never seen a belly dance performance live, I made sure my booking was around this time and it was well worth the effort.

When the belly dancer erupted on the scene, I felt as if I had fallen straight into a Bollywood movie. Completed with fan-like wings, she danced her way around the entire restaurant, and even managed to coerce a few of the patrons to have a dance with her, although some of them didn’t seem to need much persuasion. It was all very tasteful and highly entertaining. Being somewhat of a stick insect on the dance floor myself, I will forever remain in awe at how one small person can move their body that quickly and in so many ways all at once.

A warm and friendly family atmosphere, Tandoori Flames almost gave me the feeling that I was at a wedding reception for a dear friend or family member. Children are not hushed away in the corner; there is a generous dance floor central to the room where a number of little imps frolicked the night away, but there is still enough room for the quiet couple in the corner staring into each other’s eyes, to not feel disturbed.

Farewell Indian Food on Tandoori Flames

In other Tandoori Flames entertainment news, every Friday night, there is live Indian Music from 8-11. So you can get your jig on and shake it like a Polaroid picture.

Capable of seating up to 180 people, why not hire out Tandoori Flames for your next function? You won’t be disappointed.

Filipino Restaurants around the World

I love how the Filipino cuisine is slowly emerging as one of the world’s most loved cuisines. After a Filipino chef’s win care of a mean sinigang in the TV show Top Chef, and Andrew Zimmern’s declaration that Filipino cuisine is the next big thing in the world, we just couldn’t be prouder.

Add to that the improving economy of the Philippines, and you get the formula for success. More opportunities for Filipinos to venture abroad, and more chances for the Filipino cuisine to break through.

In fact, the Filipino food revolution has already started. Here’s a list of some Filipino restaurants you’ll see around the world.

Grill 21: Manhattan, New York

This just sounds like a dream come true. Filipino food right in Manhattan? Longsilog served in the streets of New York? High five, or rather, apir, to the owner! It’s been getting good reviews, and I’m not surprised. Who will say no to barbecue done the Filipino way? Who can resist the smell of bangus and tilapia fried to perfection? And, more importantly, adobo in New York just sounds downright sosyal.

Bonifacio: Singapore

A Filipino restaurant in Singapore isn’t so surprising. There are lots of Filipinos in the country, and so putting up a restaurant is synonymous to bringing home closer to the many Pinoys living there. Singaporeans should be happy too, what with all the delicious dishes such as crispy pata, kaldereta and sago’t gulaman. I’m craving right now.

La Mesa: Sydney, Australia

The establishment of La Mesa in Sydney is again proof that there are Filipinos everywhere. But what is exciting about La Mesa is that Australians also love it. They serve Filipino staples such as buko juice, kare kare, adobong pusit and halo-halo for dessert. One of the big come-ons to this restaurant is the friendly staff, something that we can all be proud of.

Philippine Islands: Edinburgh, Scotland

A fine dining place in the fine country of Scotland, Philippine Islands serve Pinoy food elegantly, much like how modern Filipino restaurants do it in the Philipines today. It is well-loved by the upscale Brits. The menu is in Filipino, but with English subtitles, much like the French or Italian menu you read when you eat out. Talk about Filo class!

Welcome to India, the country with a rich culture and traditions. Here everything has a bit of masala and a touch of spice. If you’re a vegetarian, then definitely this place is going to be an excellent vegetarian paradise for you.

Veg restaurants in India often have been influenced by the rich culture of the country. This food includes a great variety. It is divided region wise. You’ve South Indian, North Indian, East Indian and West Indian food. All regions have their staple diets and they become a center part of the character of that particular region. For instance, in South, rice is known as the major staple diet. Rice and Coconuts are grown in large quantity there. It is therefore, no wonder that most of the South Indian cuisines are made of coconut and rice.

Catering to the staple diets as well as serving other dishes, Indian vegetarian restaurants are doing well in the whole country. Firstly, population here is very large and everyone has a good appetite. Besides with more working professionals, there’s not enough time for cooking these days. Also, many people go out with their families during weekends often. These restaurants often have been known to provide something which cannot be made at home easily. One such case is Chinese food. This is one of the reasons why people like to eat out so much as their orders include Chinese food usually. We have ‘Indianised’ the Chinese food and made lots of vegetarian varieties from it. You also have vegetarian Chinese restaurants! Something that definitely would be unheard in China!

Vegetarian restaurants offer healthy and tasty meals. They understand well the different types of preferences and tastes of the consumers. There is a huge stretch of variety in the menu. A typical veg restaurant menu will include snack items, heavy snack items, fasting items, main course meals, soups, starters, desserts, etc. There are many occasions in India when people have fasts and therefore, there is a different section of fasting food products dedicated to it. In addition, everything is prepared fresh and hot since stale food cannot be consumed.

Talking about religions and casts, Indian veg restaurants cater to caste/religion specific cuisines also. There are restaurants devoted to serving only Punjabi thalis or Gujarati thalis. Now that it’s the festive season, the Indian restaurants are seen to be at their all time high. All through festivities, most of the people prefer moving out of their homes and celebrating get together parties. These Indian restaurants make the greatest of their business on these small nonetheless frequent occasions. Most of them provide a good ambiance and add an artistic value to the entire dining experience. Factors like these have worked in the favor of these eateries and they have attracted people in larger numbers. They have truly redefined hospitality and moved forward with the changing times. They have succeeded in widening the smiles of food lovers and food enthusiasts. It is no surprise that their popularity has grown over the past few years.

Each one of us likes to eat out at least once during the week. Since, most people work during the week, it is only during the weekends that families get time to take their kids out for dinner or lunch. Family restaurants are making brisk business as they witness surging crowds every week. It is a tedious task to maintain the taste and preference of a child when comes to food. Hence, today, many families look out for restaurants that offer affordable dining with decent range of dishes and cuisines. It is always beneficial that you choose a family restaurant which is inexpensive. Most of these family restaurants are decently priced and they offer a wide range of delicacies to satiate your hankering.

People prefer family restaurants as compared to intimate set-ups because of their seating arrangement. People love wider spaces as these joints not only entertain huge crowds but also tend to their customers swiftly. In India, people prefer going out for dinners along with their entire clan. Nuclear family concept is a by-product of the new epoch, however Indians are still enrooted with their values. They still believe in the adage ‘a family who eats together, stays together’. A family restaurant has the capability of catering to the mood, taste and preference of every person, whether vegetarian or non-vegetarian.

The scale of productivity equalizes the plethora of dishes displayed and offered to a customer. Every foodie knows that a family restaurant is the only place on Earth he can satisfy his hunger pangs instantly. Besides being the ultimate binging joint, a family restaurant is the only set-up wherein parents can come to dine along with their children. The service is quick. Moreover, the cook will whip the dishes in accordance to your preference. For instance, if you are health conscious, all you need to do is ask him to add less oil to your order. This is one of the many reasons, why a family restaurant is being welcomed and supported worldwide and not only in India.

Vegetarian restaurants are increasingly preferred by many families as well as other people who like to eat out more often. Contrary to popular myth that vegetarian restaurants do not have many choices when it comes to eating, today most of the restaurants offer innumerable, mouth-watering spreads to its patrons. Vegetarian dining is not just about a bowl of lentils or a bowl of lettuce salad. Chefs from all across the world have incorporated various vegetarian recipes in their cooking so as to appeal the veg eaters as well as meat lovers. They have mastered their skill and have begun experimenting with the veggies to whip a new taste, dish and delicacy to the vegetarian crowd.

Family restaurants are quite popular all across the world as they offer affordable dining without compromising on the range of menu items. They focus more on quality rather than quantity. They do value their customer’s health more than the taste of their delicacies. If you fear for your health, switch to a vegetarian diet and stay happy.

I want people to understand why people move to Austin and surrounding areas. In recent years, we have become a mecca for the best live music in the country. We call it the “music capital of the world lives.”

Not only is there music, we have lakes, mountains, state parks, museums, a lot of sights, but we have a lot of restaurants. If you have visited Austin, you know that our motto is “Keep Austin Weird.” Parts of Austin are rare, the pieces are, but I would give an idea of the two. I am not a paid critic, I have champagne tastes and am by no means the authority of the room. I like to share good places to see and sandals in a variety of upscale restaurants.

Most tourists come to a place of my favorites on Lake Travis. The Oasis has become a destination point, the food is not much, but the margaritas and sunsets. The towers of Oasis on Lake Travis, with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding hills.

Come sunset, the entire audience breaks into applause at the beauty of the lake and at the end of the day. It is rare to find a peaceful vision, but fortunately, Austin has many attractions. The food at the Oasis offers many foods such as nachos, burgers, steaks and salads. Again, it’s more about the landscape here, but it is a must do when in Austin. The Oasis is located on Highway 620 near CR 2222.

Another destination is Salt Lick in Driftwood, Texas. This is an original set, rustic Texas barbecue. Bring your own drink, sit family style, and enjoy some of the best barbecue on earth. Succulent chest, ribs and sausage dishes piled in huge w / sides of homemade potato salad, coleslaw and beans mmm mmm good. You do not have to dress for the occasion, everyone is happy in shorts and shirts. This is a casual dining experience that will leave your mouth watering for more. Having a large group, they are equipped for it and welcome. Located in the RM 1826 Driftwood. County Line is my second favorite and I can not even begin to talk about the best barbecue in the land.

Now, for a pass up – I love these three meat restaurants seafood, a stunning, unique customer service and excellent. They are:

Finn & Porter, McCormick & Schmicks and Trulucks. OMG! Each offer fresh seafood daily and have never had anything that was not very great at any of these restaurants. Trulucks has everything that can be eaten fresh Florida stone crab claws every Monday night. Make it a ritual.

McCormick & Schmicks now in the Doman (luxury shopping), try the salmon – Oh Baby is divine. Finn & Porter is an excellent dish of oysters baked with gruyere cheese sauce, lemon and garlic and onion seasoning bearnaise. To die for. These establishments either to make a great first date and a lasting impression. The dress is of higher quality.

My favorite place to eat on my birthday is Fonda San Miguel in the North Loop Dr. is a first class restaurant has been open for over 30 years. It has a kitchen interior of Mexico, second to none. When Fonda San Miguel, because it’s always a pleasure for me, so my special birthday.

The ceviche is excellent, along with black beans (a personal favorite), but my very very favorite are the enchiladas with gooey Swiss cheese and sour cream. My family prefers the stuffed teddy Chile, which are also very delicious. If you have not tried this unique restaurant called Reserve, is always full. To the best of Tex-Mex in Texas, working in Rio Grande, in Round Rock and Hutto. Consistently, the best Tex-Mex in the area!

If different is what you want, try to Hudson on the curve. Is another point that the cries of culinary delight! Excite your palate the taste of the wild boar, Maryland crab cakes, veal, venison, lamb, and the list goes on and everything is delicious. Hudson is a highlight due to changes in tastes, herbs and seasonings. I found that many people from out of state this kitchen absolutely drool over central Texas.

I could go on for hours w / a list of hot spots in Austin. One more worth mentioning, then I have to prepare food as this has come to my creativity. Top off your delicious meal with a visit to the shelter of a dining Zoot sweet

Truckstop restaurants are often blamed for the large numbers of truck drivers that are overweight or obese, but is this an accurate statement? Well, not exactly. Eateries located at truckstops whether they are called restaurants, cafeterias, dining rooms or any other name serve truck drivers and others nationwide. While it may be true that the majority of these establishments serve primarily fat laden foods such as greasy burgers, fried meats, sugary foods, fries, etc., it is basically a matter of supply and demand. The majority of truck drivers choose these types of foods.

Many drivers are so tired and hungry when they stop to eat that all they want to do is to eat something that will fill them up. They often choose the foods they are most familiar with and enjoy but which may be detrimental to their health. Many drivers also tend to overeat which becomes a self- perpetuating habit. This habit makes it impossible for drivers to regulate their eating habits. Furthermore, the foods they often select are those which contribute to weight gain. Excess weight further increases their chances of developing health problems.

If truck drivers demanded healthier food the vast majority of restaurants would include healthy foods as part of their menus. These establishments are for profit businesses which means they must make a profit to stay in business. What good does it do for restaurants to offer healthy food if no one will buy it? Drivers that want healthy foods should voice their concerns to management or other appropriate staff person.

Many of these establishments have listened to truck drivers concerns and now offer healthier foods. They have hired dietitians to create healthier versions of popular foods and many drivers are taking advantage of and enjoying these foods. Currently, an estimated 10% to 15% of truckers select the healthy food options that restaurants offer. If more restaurants could be convinced that there is a need and a market for healthier food options more would offer them.

We all vote with our dollars so if more drivers requested healthy food and bought it when offered more restaurants will offer it and increase the selections offered. Like any other business restaurants seek to provide products and services that their customers want. If you want more healthy foods make your desires known to the various eateries that you regularly frequent and you might see them offered on the menu.

Drivers should primarily focus on consistently eating healthy foods. Eating healthy on the road may be somewhat of a challenge but it is not impossible. Avoid eating junk foods such as potato chips, candy bars, etc. Keeping your own supply of healthy snacks such as raw nuts and dried fruits in the truck can help you avoid buying unhealthy snacks at truckstops. Also, you could keep a small cooler in the truck for fresh foods. You could also top fresh salads with olive oil or balsamic vinegar instead of rich salad dressings. Taking the time and making the effort to eat healthy can help you to lead a healthier and more productive life both now and in the future.

India is a country having huge diversity in terms of culture. We reside in probably the most diverse country in the world for every state seems like a different country altogether. This is because before there was a huge chunk of land called India, there were a number of princely states which just formed a cluster in the southern part of Asia which later got a border and got to be called India. Be it dance, languages, music, dresses or food, there is a whole lot of variety available in this country called India. One trend that has become extremely popular the world over is that of Indian vegetarian food.

Although vegetarianism and following a vegan lifestyle have become trends now, it has been happening in India since a long time. We believe in the non killing of animals and are a peaceful lot which could explain why we never invaded any country or attacked one although we were invaded and attacked by many. Foreigners who visit our country are gob smacked by the sheer amount and variety of tasty cuisines. But when they do taste our tasty Indian vegetarian food, they are bowled over by the magical blend of the spices which melt in the mouth. It is a treat to our palate and is an experience that cannot be missed.

With the advent of globalization, the country saw a lot of international cuisines coming in. Numerous eateries of international origin started to set shop here and believe it or not, but many non meat eating people actually started becoming hard core non vegetarian eaters owing to the tempting tasty food that they were no able to eat of international origin. However in recent times we have seen a spurt of Indian food restaurants in our local malls.

You have countless such eateries, most of which serve the dishes in the thali or the buffet format. The beauty of the cuisines of our country lies in the exotic spices and recipes used to make them. A good Hindustani dish takes a lot of time to prepare for you cannot get the same scrumptious taste if you were to just saute them or put them all in a microwave to cook. Suffice to say, the trend of going to Indian food restaurants is back and how.

Many people the nation over know how precious dishes are made by a maternal figure such as a mother or grandmother. The notion of ‘Maa ke haath ka khaana’ has certainly not been overrated in our country because the mothers would put in their whole days in the kitchen when there were no modern tools such as ovens, chimneys, gas stoves and microwaves to aid them. Hence housewife became a full time job. However today we don’t get those flavors easily unless we go to a good eatery as mothers have obviously resorted to quicker food making options since they do not have time or energy to waste in making authentic Indian vegetarian food.

People might know Rajasthan across the world as an arid region with desert vegetation but one more closely associated with it might liken it to the crazy dish of dal bati churma they had at some home or restaurant. Then again Rajasthani food isn’t just about that; the region’s cuisine, because of its topography and climate abounds in vegetarian fare that makes use of dairy and flour products to make up for the lack of water and green produce not unique to the region. With strange traditions of sweets begin served before the main course and no concept of any dessert or self-service the Rajasthani cuisine’s advantage lies in the beauty of merging tradition and cuisine in complete harmony that command admiration in even the most refined of connoisseurs.

Caterers services across metropolitan cities in India and otherwise offer the cuisines of different regions to businesses or wedding planners and otherwise to cash in on a number of opportunities that today’s diversity seeking Indians might want to see on their plates. With this analogy in place, Rajasthani food is one of the cushy catering cuisines that businesses peddle with a complete set of services that vary across operators and pricing models. These caterers don’t just apply the food to their business acumen but set up a collection of servers and an immersive experience that help in relating the cuisine to their clientele better.

Some of these caterers services come with the option of hiring top chefs well known with their dalliance in preparing that cuisine for gourmet eaters. Others offer live counters and pick up and go counters that cater to executive scenarios better. There are a number of services that have picked up on the global trends impinging into traditional domains and have accordingly plucked their businesses to keep in step with dynamic services that can compete well. Even if it a small gathering of friends or a social tea party, these caterers assimilate a host of capabilities that can satiate a wide selection of events through flexible catering solutions.

Buffet meals are the most popular among the services that are offered by these institutions and in terms of a particular cuisine clients can order different menus in accordance with their taste palettes. It is imperative to take your time in deciding from across scores of catering services that are advertised and then engaging their services. People have been known to disappoint and it is only fair to test the waters before taking a dive into hiring caterers that claim specialty but execute a meager presentation that might lose you a contract or leave you with a bad reputation among your circle of friends. For these reasons, it is better to engage better known players who have either serviced friends or colleagues before to gauge their efficiency as a business before hiring their services. The catering team comes with setting up, serving and teardown along with different serving options to help clients decide what exactly is it they want for their scrumptious event!
